keep on trucking without pulling timing??? The guys at Mitsubishi figured it out a LOOONG time ago: build an ECU without a timing map. Use a good knock sensor and just let it build its own map. Closed loop knock control. Its beautiful, and it works very well. Too bad they just build shit for engines.. But what that little idea they had is reflecting my friend, is that you find the upper limits of timing and buffer accordingly. You build your configuration based on what the uppermost timing can possibly be when using a reasonably buffered A/F ratio; I like 11:1-11.5:1 for pump fuel and 12:1-12.5:1 on good race fuel, then buffer your timing a degree or two and let the knock sensor go from there. If it knocks, pull the timing - its as simple as that. JWT also does not assume you dont have boost control solenoids, they actually are counting on you having them.. And if your little theory on that held any water, then they would be asking you if you are using a boost controller and there would be some JWT programs with different timing maps, of which there aren't. I'm sorry for you..
